In a few days, my daughter Megan will be giving birth to a little girl named Athena.
I never thought much about becoming a Grandparent primarily because I know I wasn't the greatest father. I left Serena and Megan when they were young to try and follow my business dreams by moving to Toronto. Prior to my move from Calgary, I was splitting my time between the high tech industry and Professional Hockey. Some of the only moments the kids remember with me from their childhoods is hanging around Hockey Rinks. Business has always been my way of escaping life. I know I am very focused on what kind of world Athena will grow up in, and I hope she will have alot more opportunities to make a difference no matter how great or how small because of the influence i have helped create. My daughters are amazing in spite of me thanks to their mother Sara and Step Father Ron. Both are incredible parents. Athena, I promise you I will try to be there whenever you need me. This world needs you to be the best you, you can become. The greatest gift a family can ever give is to allow you to explore life with love and direction. You will learn alot from my mistakes as you will from your own. I am excited to meet you. Love Always, Grandpa Peter...
